#1 Postby Brent » Fri Nov 30, 2007 2:34 pm

ROCHESTER, N.H. - A man took people hostage at a New Hampshire campaign office for Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Clinton, police said Friday.

The man claimed to have a bomb strapped to him when he walked into the office in Rochester, WHDH-TV reported.

Police said they believe two hostages were being held and that the man had released an adult and a child.

Whatever your political affliation may be, no matter if you dislike a candidate this is just not right. I hope that the situations resolves peacefully.

Agreed, regardless of how one feels about politics one should not use violence, or threat of violence to make one's point.

ROCHESTER, N.H. - A deranged man wearing what appeared to be a bomb strapped to his chest walked into a Hillary Rodham Clinton campaign office Friday, took several hostages and demanded to speak to the candidate, authorities said.

The man released at least three hostages as the afternoon wore on, but nearly four hours after the standoff began, police said they were still dealing with a hostage situation and the man had not been taken into custody.

“We’re confident we have the resources available to end this safely,” Capt. Paul Callaghan said at a briefing. He repeatedly refused to say how many hostages were taken and how many remained.

EDIT: Situation appears to be over, suspect is in custody.

I'd say this wasn't in particular political; the guy was just a loon.

I'm glad that it was resolved and they got him.

Sounds like a nutcase to me who wanted his 15 minutes of fame. He just chose Clinton Campaign office because it will get attention. I have never of a campaign office being targeted by hostage takers or nutcases.

Yes, and even more importantly that no one got hurt or killed.
