I wouldn't get IE7. It's got more features than IE6, but it's still much slower. If you can't get Firefox, and you don't need tabs, see if you can get the original IE6.

I fixed the problem with Java. I just updated the platform.... I have internet explorer already installed and it seems really fast. Well the puter is super fast so thats probably why  Thanks guys. Side note Norton sucks with vista and so did the CA suite that roadrunner provides. I installed avg and it's working really good. Is windows defender as good as adaware or should I install that as well???

You should using more than one spy-ware program, so use both.

I have no idea, because I am not using Vista. But I don't think it should cause any compatibilty issues. Another good one is Spybot. I used to use three spy-ware programs, Spybot, Adware and Windows Defender.

First of all thanks for all the input. I have a question about divers and updates. All my windows update are current but when I run pc pitstop, it's says some of my drivers are outdated?? Is there anything in windows vista that can check on this. I want to either find that out or a good free program to run thanks for the information.

Have you tried the Dell site? See if they have a scanner program that will check to see if you have the most current drivers.

Here?

What kind of drivers is PC Pitstop saying are outdated? Here is something from the PC Pitstop forums regarding "problems" with their "driver scan"program.

It is new computer. The drivers should be updated to the latest. There isn't a lot of turnover in drivers. Especially, if it pre-loaded with Vista. If you have problems with drivers, then you should revisit the issue of updating of drivers.
