Call A Letter, For Pete's Sake!

#1 Postby abajan » Fri Feb 01, 2008 8:13 pm

I just witnessed 2 giggling teenage girls on the game show Wheel of Fortune lose out on an extra $18,000 in the final round simply because they failed to first put their brains in gear before blurting out "Shopping Spree!"

What they should've done was first call the letter "P" (each correctly called costanant was worth $6,000 because the host had spun $5,000 on the wheel). How many times have I seen Pat Sayjack in the final round caution contestants to first call a letter?

Man, I just hate to see contestants lose money so stupidly! :x

:uarrow: I have a feeling they recruit these people for stupidity, because they're idiots even when they win. What kind of idiot is going to risk an 80,000 dollar deal on Deal or No Deal?

I hear that. Deal or No Deal is like a carnival of retards 90% of the time, and that's just the way they like it. Same with most game shows save for maybe Jeopardy.

I think I'll make an audition video for Deal or No Deal, where I'll act like the most vapid, airheaded, reckless person on the entire planet. Then I'll show up and act like a rational, intelligent human being with a shred of common sense. I'll be rich.

It kills me every time an idiot on DoND refuses a great offer. Just on Thursday in our local version (special Lunar New Year top prize of $688,888), the contestant opened the big one and $250,000 (third best) in the first round and was offered $8,600. She didn't take the offer, and opened $500,000 (second) and $100,000 (fourth) in the next two rounds. When offered $2,800 with just three cases bigger than that offer left ($1,500 next smallest), she rejected it.

She walked away with $20.
