Zhou Yonghong, a female worker from Shenzhen, Guangdong Province went back to her hometown but was trapped on the road near Chenzhou City, Hunan Province due to the snow storm that is striking Southern China for days. Trying to find her, her boyfriend Du Dengyong walked along the disabled Beijing-Zhuhai Highway for some 100 kilometres until he was not able to walk longer because of the freezing weather. His clothes and hair was completely covered by ice. Du said, "I want to be by her side even if I'm frozen to death."

Trapped on the Beijing-Zhuhai highway due to the heaviest snow for decades, Hu Yuan (male) and Ren Wen'e (female) decided to hold their wedding on the inter-city coach.

In Guiyang City, Capital of Southwestern China's Guizhou Province, a worker is repairing the electric wire covered by ice. Guiyang now has recovered from days-long power cut. Till now, 5 electric workers have been dead due to the accidents happened when repairing the wires.

A passenger fainted while waiting for her train in Guangdong Railway Station. Due to the heavy snow, Large numbers of trains were cancelled, however, hoping to reunion and celebrate the upcoming Chinese Spring Festival (This year on 7 February) with family, few people cancelled their trip home. Many passengers have stayed in the station for a week.

Qingdao keeps sunny or cloudy weather for about too weeks, neither snow nor rain.
It snowed in Qingdao at night on 19 January, but turned out to be an "artificial" one.
