Yeah, but it was a tropical depression for longer than twelve.

This is apparently TD3 one advisory , TS Chantal next advisory, Gone.

Uhm... advisories are every six hours. The TS forecast is for 12 hours. More than three advisories definitely if this forecast verifies.

Oh, yeah. True.

No, it should make it to 5pm tomorrow, with a last advisory at 11pm declaring it extratropical. It's not going to change quite that quick . . .

If you're replying to my Iceland comment, I know. But a post tropical cyclone landfall is still rare.

First time in the short history of the GTWO that it shows an active Atlantic system.

Karl was 2004, Maria 2005.

Hopefully it won't become a superstorm in the north Atlantic - the last thing northwest Europe needs is more rain...

Haha . . . I'm pretty sure they got one last year, like Gordon or Helene . . . no need to go back to 04/05. Maria, though, did cause 2 deaths in Norway, and that's the most significant impact that far east since . . . I think it was 1968? That seems kinda arbitrary, but it's what sticks out . . .

I think this could last as a cyclone for 24 hours...In get to Chantal at 6 hours from now. If it go's more east or east-northeast maybe longer.

Looks like it has improved since being upgraded. Very likely a tropical storm.

I don't like how they changed the forum area up. Nobody is posting here because it is difficult to navigate back and forth from the regular talkin tropics forum to this one. Most people are looking at 99L in the other forum and would it be nice if this on were over there too.

Looking good, we could very well have Chantal in the morning if convection stays close to TD3's LLC.

Thank god! Something to do tommorow! :cheesy:

This is about the exact day that a storm formed in 2004 that started 2 months of hell. Just a thought.
