So did the other invests. For all intents and purposes, TCFAs in the Atlantic are meaningless as they get issued without regard to the official criteria if there is a U.S. or Department of Defense interest in its vicinity.

Ughh. Invest Confusion.
Lovely isn't it.
Can't blame NRL Dudes though.
Those Dudes are still my homies fo shizzle.
Holla at ma dawgs at the NRL.

Anyway some models take this south of florida
others East. So that means no threat to florida or
is there a threat? Sorry if annoying...that's too bad.

I think we are all moving too fast for the NRL to keep up as the data keeps changing.

So lets see; 94L disappeared and returned today
96L- went to T numbers of 2.0 and now 2.5 and to 12L No Name
97L- disappeared (as of now)

"Movin too fast for the kid"
8-) :double:

Invest 97L has not been deactivated per ATCF . . . so the NRL site has accidently dropped it.

No other ATCF commands have been given (as of yet) for 97L . . . so, per the NHC, it is still an invest.

97L has lost most of it's deep convection this evening and is running into some strong shear.

Actually, it's doing pretty good in the convection department.

Image

IR loop shows that the convection over the center is colder than it has been the past several hours. Gives a nice, consolidating appearance to our system.

From the formation alert: SOUTHWESTERLY WIND SHEAR OVER THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN IS EXPECTED TO DECREASE AS THE DISTURBANCE MOVES INTO THE REGION, ENHANCING THE POTENTIAL FOR TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION.
Not just the alert, but the danger area map http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/tafb_latest/danger_atl_latestBW.gif
And the 8pm discussion. "THERE ARE THREE AREAS OF LOW PRESSURE IN ATLANTIC BASIN THAT
COULD BECOME TROPICAL DEPRESSIONS AT ANY TIME OVER THE NEXT DAY
OR SO. "
Too much evidence to believe this has been dropped as an invest.

Sorry, I got the threads backwards. Yeah, you're right. Of course, firing up again overnight is hardly out of the question, but at the moment it does look pretty sad.

Regardless, this hasn't been dropped as an invest, bvigal. The NRL site just screwed up somehow and dropped the listing.

I did think it was interesting the 18z GFDL dissipated this, and 2 hrs later, a formation alert and the 8pm discussion. There must be some interesting dialog going on at NHC tonight!

Anyone knows if the NRL site is runned by human hands or is all by computer?

Looks like Ingrid 2 for now. No idea if it will reconvect.

Upper Level anticyclone moving in tandem with it. I see reconvection
very soon IMO.

Unfortunately, that upper anticyclone is also allowing for an area of high shear just to its west (~100mi) which may prevent any outflow from the SW through N quads of the storm . . . not exactly what we want when the convection is as inconsistent as it is already.
