if it is upgraded it would be upgraded at 10 p.m. EST, not 11. The advisories are issued at 0300, 0900, 1500, and 2100 UTC

Amazing that we are looking at the tropical Atlantic while the worst ice storm (it appears) in a decade is taking place in the heartland...

Wow... It's amazing how much stuff gets done when I'm gone. IMO this a fairly weak STS, on the edge of tropical, but still not. I'm not at all sure that this will make it to TS, but it has a fairly significant shot, to be sure.

I have a question...

Why am I seeing people question whether there is a surface circulation or not, from Sat data none the less, when the Pro Mets have been posting SURFACE obs clearly showing one?

Hello Olga! Just like your sister Andrea, you decided to not go when you are supposed to!

how is this subtropical??? Because it is December.

Olga looks better than most invests this year hands down.

I say Tropical Storm Olga strengthening as it moves West.

Shear has relaxed substantially since earlier today. It shows how inaccurate shear forecasts are....

Puerto Rico needs to deal with this now but a strengthening TS as it moves into the Western Caribbean should be watched by everybody even if it is December.

Most likely Olga will fizzle before reaching the Western Caribbean..hopefully..

I agree, I personally think this is a 40 kt tropical storm, not a subtropical storm. My guess for the pressure is 1004mb (just a wild guess).

This is only the third time that a season had both a documented pre-season storm and a documented post-season storm? (The others are 1887 and 2003, correct?)

Not understanding why the STS classification. Hopefully the NHC will write a detailed summary.

We will see when the advisory comes out. Are you prone to mudslides and flooding where you are?

Looks like the WSW movement is really kicking in. Still, the storm is currently more north than the models suggested.
