Update: My rain and "breeze" has suddenly become a nasty squall in NW Houston right now! Rain is coming down sideways and twigs are snapping off the pines with all the wind that is blowing. Gusts are likely near 30-40mph. Pretty nasty!

I think it's time to call the coroner. Sheesh.

Barely a rain event. The radar show nothing but sprinkles with just a few showers.

This really is a nothing storm! I have had two bands pass over me and didn't get anything but a sprinkle from the 1st one. The storms just keep dying the second they come on-shore.

Also, keep in mind you are talking about a 40 MPH TS with its center over 200 miles south of Galveston (with the center moving NW, not really any closer). It's also not looking that great ATM, so don't be surprised if rainfall in Houston is minimal.

On GR3, now it looks like the MLC is located near 22.8N & 95W, moving almost due west quite rapidly. In another hour or so it will be at the same longitude as the NHC 12-hour position. Pretty pitiful storm IMO.

I bet when recon fixes the center again pressures will have risen and she will be down to depression force winds or less. Of course they will leave her as tropical storm Erin because what does it hurt.

You wanna *really* know how pathetic this is? I just spoke to my buddy down on Galveston...he and the family are about to jump in the pool for an evening swim.

That was when it first got out there and there were some storms covering the LLC. It is dying fast.

1003.6 mb on latest pass, winds light near center which is typical of these weak storms.

I doubt that they will downgrade because it will probably start to refire new convection right after dark, this is the diurnal minimum

This reminds me of Lee in 2005... no one probably remembers it. TS for 6 hours, waste of a name, but hey, it was 2005.

It's good that this storm isn't serious, but the problem that might be discounted is that Corpus Christi can't handle even a moderate amount of rainfall before it cripples the "city". The city will shut down for a week after this thing finishes dumping the rain.

These things aren't dead until they're dead. Nobody paid the least attention to Allison in the Houston area when it suddenly developed. Billions of dollars of damage later and many dead, they remember it now.

All I'm saying is be attentive until they truly dissipate.
