The upper part of the storm(convection) and the LLC are starting to be displaced. That is what I mean by the leaning of the cyclone. If current trends keep up the LLC could be exposed again with in the next hour. We will see.

Don't think so Matt. Recon should confirm soon. Looks like band is trying to sprout out of south quadrant which would mean definite strengthening. (See recon obs thread)

For those interested, I have a GRLevel3 loop for Morehead City radar on my site being updated every 5 minutes...

Take a look at the floater box near the leeward/windward islands. That is one top of gabby...It shows what I'm saying.

Wow Gabby looks 50,000,000,000 times better than this afternoon. I honestly think that if it wasn't at such a high latitude and about to run into some land it would be able to quickly strengthen into a hurricane, but alas, it won't.

How dry I am, How Wet I'll Be
If Gabrielle would visit me

The trees would grow, and grass turn green
If she would just rain down on me

Gabby's weak wont have no punch
A western move would please me much

A drizzle here, and Sprinkle there
My garden wouldn't be quite so bare

Oh wait a sec, I change my mind
The radars show'in, big blobs of red

Get out of here, shoo go away
You hit the Gulf and intensified

Teach me well to wish forcast
Just pass some crow, I'll eat it fast

No rapid intensification as far as radar. Steady TS I guess.

Sorry but I can't see anything like what you're talking about. My eyes aren't exactly the most acute though so I could DEFINITELY be wrong but if anything it looks to me that the convection is getting CLOSER to the center.

The LLC appears based on a fast look at 23rd ob from recon to be near 33 north/76 west,,,with 1006 millibar pressure. Highest winds are 40 knots at flight level.

No Gulf Stream burst then. 40KTS isn't enough for me to stay up for. Goodnight.

The pressure falls but Gabrielle just won't strengthen :?:

I believe the nhc had it no farther west then 75.8,. It is at near 76 west now. At least the last ob in the 23rd. But it has to be pretty close to the center with winds of only 18 knots. I say pressure maybe as low as 1005?

053730 3332N 07553W 9223 00752 0048 +214

Large area of low winds,,,but pressure appears to be 1004.8 millibars at near 33.32 north/75.53 west. More east and closer to the edge of the convection.

So how does the center stack up this time, compared to the Positions/other Recon fixes?
