I got to know frm my mother that It has already started raining in Dhaka and the sky looks very dark over chittagong this morning. Some newspapers are saying that this storm is going to hit the land today at 11am Bangladesh time.

That's probably a bit premature . . . because that would be about now, right? I believe one of our professionals estimated around 3am local time tonight (about 4pm EST), but it could also be a touch later than that.

I agree with you about it. The indian newspapers are saying that SIDR might not hit Kolkata rather it has a great chance to hit Mongla, Chittagong and Cox-Bazar.

Odd, most of the models are closer to Kolkata than they are to Chittagong. Not sure what IMD is looking at.

Dvorak T remains the same at 0530z, but note the small note at the bottom:

735
TPIO10 PGTW 150614

A. TROPICAL CYCLONE 06B (SIDR)

B. 15/0530Z

C. 19.3N/3

D. 89.3E/0

E. ONE/MET7

F. T7.0/7.0/D0.5/24HRS STT: S0.0/06HRS (15/0530Z)

G. IR/EIR/VIS/MSI LLCC

07A/PBO IRREG EYE/ANMTN. 20NM OW EYE SURR BY CMG RING
YIELDS DT OF 7.0 AFTER EYE ADJ. DBO DT. PT AND MET
AGREE.

EYE TEMP CONTINUES TO WARM INDICATING SLIGHT
DEVELOPMENT OVER THE LAST 6 HOURS.

CIMSS ADT is still 7.2 and the weakening flag is still on, but the weakening flag comes on when there is any decrease at all in any of the T-numbers (even a decrease of 0.1T activates the flag).

Actually, I forgot to mention that for Imageshack images, there's some links below the image - copy the code in the box next to "Forum" and paste it into your reply here (you can edit your last post to fix the image).

One last thing - if you use Imageshack, you don't need to use the Img button (this is the last thing I forgot to mention, honest!).

That track pretty much looks like what the models were indicating throughout yesterday. However, the westerlies may yet play a role in where Sidr ends up in the next 24 hours, and that could potentially have serious consequences.

I have a feeling it's going to landfall a lot sooner then forecasted or first thought. It seems like 8-10 hours away or even less if it speeds up.

Let us just pray that the storm dies before it can hit the lad though its not looking like that. I am worried about the people whoe lives in the small islands and also the fishermen.

whats really going to make this a catastrpohie is notice Sidr is moving due north (perpenducilar) relative to the coast line and typically that maxamizes the surge and thats how Katrina was able to nuke the coast was having it built up at category 5 intensity with a large windfiled while moving due north at a perpenducialr angle relative to the coast
