Now I am starting to wonder if the 00z GFS run will be out at all.

One thing the models don't have at this point is dropsonde/radiosonde data to chew on from the ridging or overall synoptics ahead of the storm. They won't start getting that data till we start flying into it and around it. Till then I'll just wait and see.

GFS must be screaming "SEASON CANCEL!" and refusing the data altogether O.o It has a mind of its own..."You are now entering, The Twilight Zone."

There used to be a place you could go to read messages on if there was a problem or not with the run.

Wednesday night it should start calculating the High expected to move off north Florida. Up to then it is just general guidance for me. It is obvious that when the ridge was strong GFS straight-tracked Dean through the Caribbean. Now that it has changed GFS has changed. It will change again I'm sure.

Our local weatherman showed a High building up over north Florida and out into the Atlantic for Saturday bringing an easterly flow across Florida at the surface level.
