OK, while I was doing that last post and noting the Special TDS on 90L, I see the new 12z model data was released. a. they still say moving WNW b. speed has increased
I think Leewards need to watch this carefully. Yes, if it intensifies soon, it could go fish.

You should see where the Euro has this in 10 days.

Of course, even if I weren't a complete amateur, far to early to speculate on a 69th anniversary repeat of the 1938 Long Island Cat 3 Hurricane.

IMO, South Carolina to the Keys looks safer than before (even the Euro is hinting at a weakening ridge)

The mid-Atlantic may not be so lucky though.

It will be interesting to see how much of that GFS forecast 200mb screaming wind shear comes to fruition. If it is as bad as the GFS shows, then this thing will be cut to bits. Then, if it survives that supposed shear, conditions get better. But where will it be at that time?

I have an AMS meting at 10:30, so I will have to issue both forecasts prior to the meeting

I will put up the links though (I am not sure I will even now be able to make the meeting since we have TWO TDs)

Are there two TDs now? It seems obvious, but is it almost official?

We are really cranking out the named storms. A little short on the hurricane side of things, which seems odd, but the named storms by the end of the day could be up to nine!
