I am just learning how to look at all this different information, so I have no idea what I'm talking about...
I was just looking at the noaa satellites (the visible image loop) http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/tatl.html
Does anyone else see a circulation just offshore of the "tip"...well actually a larger area and a very small circle within that? Just off enough that with a due west motion, the center won't touch land? I know not to focus on the center to much, but am concerned that when I wake up in the morning we will have a a little something more to worry about. The GOM is like a bathtub...

I think I know what is causing the mysterious "thunder" of Pensacola. The Pelicans must have had a game tonight and there were massive amounts of fireworks a little while ago. I heard the loud rumbling and went outside and saw a beautiful fireworks show. I live off of N. Davis. Lots of loud booms. I'm pretty sure this is what all you Pcola folk heard.

That makes sense...they dedicated the field tonight I think. Mystery solved!

My son just came home and yes he said he did see the firewiorks, thank goodness because we have the kids toys and patio furniture that we have yet to put up.I want at least a good nights sleep tonight, work is going to tough the next few nights!.

SoupBone, sure am hoping that the new NHC path does not pan out for our area! The Floridians must be super tired of this storm. This storm does not give up easily and they are feeling the brunt of it at this point. Slow and steady she goes, where she stops, nobody knows! RW

Makes sense it looks like she's been moving onshore though near Carrabelle. She also looks only due west of that position and not WNW like forecasted.

On radar at least, I'm seeing a lot more action near the north half of the center (dare I say eye) than I've seen in the past 24+ hours.

We've had a few good gusts here in Panama City in the past few hours. I've heard one report of lines down on the scanner in the past 30 mins in the Millville area of Panama City. No power losses for me yet.

I am South of Fairhope in Alabama. Kind of an eerie calm tonight. The day was beautiful. Blue Skies and very humid but a nice breeze. I know things are about to change. My cat has been acting strange for the last couple of days. The girls are kind of scared but excited at the same time. Laura remembers Ivan and Katrina so she has an idea of what a storm can do but she is interested in tracking it. The other two have no idea. They were very young when we had our last system. I believe things will get worse as Saturday progresses.

Very strange having winds in the opposite direction from our normal storms in this area. Also doesn't take much wind to make you remember storms in the recent past!
I hope that when I wake up in the morning there are no surprises. Hoping for no power outages and low tornado threat!

The nhc placed it at 29.8 or .1+ north. So it is not moving west-southwestward. More like 275-280. Its time to turning our attentions to 95L, and maybe keep a eye on 94L.

I think those of us that are in the path will probably stay tuned to Fay a little while longer, esp. with her entering the most open water (beginning in about 6 hours) she has seen since she struck SW Florida days ago.
