This is probably a reorg of a weak system bouncing around.

LLC relocating cause just a temporary sudden more northward track or do u guys think the overall track is going to shift further right?

By right I meant any track further north from it's current track which could include the NE movement if it was possible. Well at least this storm gives our brains a lot of exercise.

LLC is just NE of ULL ull center appears to be 22.8 69

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t2/loop-wv.html

the convection is not wrapping around the SW part of hanna, that is the ULL wrapping convecton around itself (south side) as it sinks South .........i believe

hanna center apperas to be about 23 68 on ir2 , lots of dry air entrained can be seen around her center of WV above, convection displaced to the NE and EAST

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t2/loop-ir2.html

should be getting further and further away from the ULL so long as the LLC does not do anything weird like dive S.....................this is my opinion look to pro's for real info

Yea I think you may be right that does appear to be the ULL wrapping convection.. Hanna is a mess right now..

From Accuweather Discussion:
There are two potential scenarios for Hanna early next week. Energy moving over the Atlantic from the East Coast could absorb the storm, taking it north and eventually out to sea. The more likely scenario is that Hanna will move around the belly of high pressure over the East through the Straits of Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico. It could become a major hurricane later next week.
Regardless of the outcome, it should be stressed that Hanna and Gustav will not merge together to form one massive storm. :D

Accuweather sticking w/ the Fl Straits/Gulf idea. I like the massive storm clarification, that's good.

Hanna may "appear" sub-tropical due to the ULL driving a wedge of dry air into the circulation but she is not sub-tropical in nature.

This is a very confusing situation for sure. Last night models make sharp left turn and 24 hours later they make sharp right turn. I don't think I've seen models change that drastic in 24 hours. Accuweather going w/ FL Straits/Gulf, NHC going towards Florida, models going to Carolinas???

I guess that means it's all up to us here at storm2k to figure out it's final track. I believe we can do it.

FCI brings some realism on this board so I think he's inline...he is not stressed out about the storm but more stressed about the erroneous comments made about the storm.

Let's just watch and happens with Hanna. I'm rooting for a deflection just east of Florida out to sea.

Wish I could believe ya there. 8-)

Yes, it has the potential to be a hurricane. We will just have to kind of wait and see at this point. If you haven't been through this before, there is a lot of watching and waiting that goes on that will drive you nuts! At least it always does me. And if you do have questions, don't be afraid to ask. Sometimes the tension of this watching and waiting gets to some of us. No question is a dumb question- they are all important to us. Also, if you would like to have one of the pro mets or one of the other pros on this site answer a question this is a good place to go ask one - viewforum.php?f=29
There is not a separate thread about Hanna for questions yet, but I feel certain one of the approved mets will start one soon where you can get some really good answers to your questions there.

I've lived in Florida for almost 15 years now and have had my fair share of Hurricanes. It's just that I'm new to this high-tech stuff and really don't know the answers to the questions I'm asking... I'm sorry if I made anyone mad, so I'll shutup now. Thanks

Don't run off. If you have a question then ask. And your PM (private messages) are messages you get here at the top of the page - next to Log out - and your name is a number and new messages. Click on that to be able to get your private messages that you might have received and to be able to send them as well, if you aren't familiar with that. When I first started here I think it took me a year before I realized what PM's were and where to get them! :cheesy: Glad to have you here with us!

any pro's watching hanna right now care to comment on her structure right now

loops are difficult to discern things right now because you have two circulations at different levels in the atmosphere i would assume. a ULL and Hanna and they are partially overlayed which is making things appear "strange". Assuming hanna has not done anything crazy (any south movement) it is relatively safe to say she is in the process of getting away from the ULL (which is diving SSW) and that hanna will be creating more distance from this feature in at least the short term although she will be hampered by some dry air that she entrained, how long this hampers her is anyone guess

The official track and models have been all over the place, and there is little agreement after 72 hours. Amazing how differently the models are handling Hanna than with Gustav. Gustav has had a pretty stable consensus for a while now, and Hanna is just the opposite. The only models that have been somewhat consistent are the Euro and Nogaps, which show some W/NW thru NW motion after 72 hours. I think the key is how the storm reacts when the high builds in... will it stall, loop, or be forced W?
