looking like a very vigorous LLC only thing is i can't tell where this ULL is, did it weaken or something, it's still over hanna right ( i mean the NHC 11 am disco said that) but tuff to see

cimss 200mb relative vorticity (upper level) trends show ULL vorticity stretching out well south of hanna (into central caribean) , telling me ULL is getting streched and shunted south? perhaps she will be good to go soon?

I have been reading these posts about recon and what you are seeing.

Layman that I am, I don't have a "clue" what you are saying....

Bottom line....what does that say for us here in the Turks & Caicos????

We are under IS warning but radio not issuing reports.

I would deeply appreciate an answer from someone.

Thanks

Earlier, the models seemed to be overestimating the ridge strength. Now I wonder if they may be underestimating its future strength.

it means that the system is a little stronger, in terms of pressure, than the nhc thought... just by looking at the sat images, it would appear that the system is much weaker than that... now, hanna is still on track of the forecast as of now.. if you are in the cone, pay attention to your local statements... it really means nothing new for you at this time.... it is just a bit stronger, pressure wise, than we thought.. hope that helps better

Thank you for your explanation.

Plain and simple....there are NO reports from our radio stations....I was just curious about whether or not it was strengthening.

Well the models did show strengthening around this time despite the marginal conditions and that seems to be coming true.

Hanna is certainly tricky little system to try and forecast...
I suspect eventually the conditions will improve for it its just how long does that take?

Crist is holding a press conference for Hanna and Gustav. Hanna may cause evacuations on the upper east coast in the coming days.

I don't know if there is a connection, but I noticed most of Gus's models last night showed a NE turn after landfall and when they did Hanna's models made that big right jump. Today all of Gus's models make a left turn after landfall and so far the GFS for Hanna has shifted back W. Just an observation.

Quite possibly Blown away if Gud got out of the way then it would open a weakness for Hanna to go into but if it doesn't go east then that weakness won't be nearly as strong.

I personally think Hanna may really have a hard time holding itself together for the next 2-3 days but after that it does seem conditions improve, if it can survive this hellish beating then this needs big time watching for the east coast in general.

So what you guys are saying is that if Gus moves more towards West, Hanna could potentially have a more favorable environment and a bigger chance of striking SF???

If hanna hits sfl it will not be because gus goes further west. It will be because the mid-upper
level cutoff low in west atlantic does not move as far south and west.
That feature is supposed to create a weakness in the ridge north of hanna.
