Even so this storm is a weak system, I expect because it followed the coast with its strongest band/quad to find more damage then it might of had if it had one landfall point.

They are reporting on Channel 11 right now that the northern wall of the eye is currently making landfall in Cameron. :?:

Edouard is certainly looking impressive on radar this morning. Hope that all in its path are safe.

ummmm, that's defaintly wrong reporting. eye is not making landfall in Cameron, furthermore there IS NO eye that I know of. if anything it is making landfall near the Jefferson/Chambers county line in tx.

I'm in SW LA near the Calcasieu/Cameron border and winds are staying pretty consistent around 39 mph with a few embedded showers. We've lost electricity about 8 times in the last hour alone from gusts so I figured I'd check in while the getting is good.

The weather channel is also saying it is starting to move onshore now too at La/Tx border.

The last 3 images on radar shows Ed's center is really falling apart. I realize Ed never really established a well defined center.... but I thought he would of looked better than this at landfall.

Exactly why I come here for clarification. Communication was a major problem with Rita and continues to remain unchanged.

Well I'm right here on the Jefferson/Chambers border

Wind is blowing pretty good... little rain... electricity has blinked off twice but we haven't completely lost power. I went to bed around midnight -- what happened to the mid day landfall? LOL

Seriously though, not much to report. I really think the weather was worse day before yesterday when those little storms popped up.

Amazingly the east side of a storm is the worst and this opposite appears to be true with this one because SE Texas is getting pounded with the heaviest winds and convection. Or is this another radar illusion?

I agree with you there. Only those storms were relatively short lived. This just keeps gusting.
