I will have to say, I read this board constantly when a storm is about to come. This board has more info than anyone except Greg Bostwick, he really keeps us informed. TWC is a joke nowadays. Lyons can be ok at times, but they sometimes dont even have up to date info. I commend the mets on here.

EVERYONE AND I DO MEAN EVERYONE-KEEP IT ON TOPIC

I am deleting posts right and left that have nothing to do with Edouard. Suspensions will follow if the chatter about other subjects continues!!

I have a question about the storm. I'm pretty confused on where the center is located and what the path is now.

I'm currently at work in Northwest Harris County near the Cypress/Copperfield/Jersey Village area. Any idea what sort of conditions we'll have later today? Also, is the storm moving our way? It looks like its going due west on the radar.

Thanks!

They have talked on tv about this being a lop-sided one because we are getting rain on the left sde. It looks like it might be picking up some moisture on the right side, too, and getting ready to dump it on us. Am I correct?

Anyone know how fast Edouard is moving? Visually he looks like he's not going very fast. Slower than I expected, anyway.

We've had light rain under the Bear Creek Dome in West Houston this morning and not a puff of a breeze. I'm not worried about wind, but looking at the back side of Ed that will move through later doesn't give me a warm fuzzy. Ed isn't moving as quickly as I'd like to see, and it appears that daytime heating is beginning to work its magic on the rain bands. Gonna be a long day.

Anyone else notice how disappointed our local media seems to be? We've had Ch. 11 on this morning and the reporters are showing cars driving through "puddles". "Puddles!"

It's been raining for a couple of hours in West University. No real wind, a couple of light puffs but that's all. Some puddles, etc. It looks like we're due for more all day but with no lightning, thunder, or wind it's just a lazy kind of rainy day really.

You guys maybe getting rain for a while according to 11A TWD and radar.
Radar:http://radar.weather.gov/ridge/radar.php?rid=HGX&product=NCR&overlay=11101111&loop=yes
THE CENTER IS BECOMING HARDER TO LOCATE IN WSR-88D DATA...BUT THE
INITIAL MOTION IS ESTIMATED TO BE 300/13. MODEL GUIDANCE IS IN
GOOD AGREEMENT ON A CONTINUED WEST-NORTHWESTWARD MOTION WITH
PERHAPS A SLIGHT REDUCTION IN FORWARD SPEED UNTIL THE CYCLONE
DISSIPATES IN 36-48 HOURS
.

That's what we've got too. I've even got the windows open to air out the house after months of a/c. Nice change!

Edouard has a very broad center right now which is still on the East side of the metro area. The "center" is expected to move to the WNW(I also am still seeing W as I watch the radar-looks like it is coming in on I-10 East)and go through the far northern part of Harris County/Southern Montgomery County later this afternoon(2-3pm). The biggest problem most are going to see is possible flooding(minor street flooding reports are already coming in) from downpours. The entire area is currently under an urban and small stream flood advisory as well as a flash flood watch.

You will begin to see some heavier rains in a while in your area, but right now it doesn't appear that this will turn into a widespread flooding event. If Edouard doesn't speed up some I am concerned that this may change.

There is an impressive amount of rain still offshore according to your graphic of rainfall totals.

They're desperate for anything to report on. Did you catch when 26 went live to high island to report on a possible fallen tree, but it turned out to be the assistant volunteer fire chief saying "well I can't see them all, so there might be trees down"

I'd believe a funnel cloud, but they aren't near water...
