Well the "warm spot" will make it easier to track the center :D getting breezy and rainy here

From watching the loops, am I the only one who sees it moving more westly towards the SC coast?

Note that the next image is in and now the warm spot has been replaced by a much colder spot. An eye does not mean a hurricane and a hurricane won't necessarily mean an eye.

We also have radar to look at now.

Looks more like an overshooting top than an eye.

the deeper convection is expanding westward. i think it may be an illusion about it looking like it is moving more westward.

Looking at the last frame of the loop http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t2/loop-rgb.html with the forecast points on, it looks to me like the center according to the low level clouds (yellowish), is ESE of the overshooting tops in the higher levels (white). I've been staring at the loops for a while, so maybe its just me, but I think it is either on or slightly west of the track and not quite as far west as it appears. Anyone else see what I am talking about?

Just saw the same thing, orion. It seems west of the forecast points and heading towards Charleston.

Yep, Bane, I agree... I think it is a combination of that along with our eyes fooling our brains into thinking those overshooting tops are the center.

Yeah, I think if it is though, that it is only slightly off track and not as much as it first appears... I'm overlaying sat with radar loops now and trying see if that verifies what I think I am seeing or not.

I agree that it looks as if their is now and then a NW wobble. It looks by radar the "eyewall" is all to the W and SW of the Center which does that hint a some type of west.

FL CENTER EMBEDDED WITHIN DEEP CONVECTION IN CORE
FREQUENT LIGHTNING INBOUND AND OUTBOUND

Those 2 things would usually point to strengthening as Crazy Said.

That graphic makes no sense. As of 8:00pm its moving north. For that track to verify its gonna have to pull pretty sharp
