It's interesting -- as crackheaded as the model shifts have been and as much as people would probably assume that the NHC's forecasts haven't verified, if you watch the 3-day track animation, they've done a great job. I don't think the track once swerved out of the 3-day cone.

He made landfall on a small peninsula, I was trying to tell people if he went west he would go back into water but people thought I was crazy apparently.

It perfectly apparent and makes sense to me. It's just the shape of the coast ppl. Part of the eye looks to stay onshore though.

The southern eyewall is still riding 21N, like it has for more than 24 hours now. You gotta wonder when he'll make the turn, figured it would've happened by now.

I think there is a possibility that Ike will pull in some moisture from the leftovers of Lowell about 5 days from now.

That was on the SOUTHERN eyewall, frankly I have a hard time believing it was just 125 mph sustained. Post-season might put it at 130-135 IMO.

I dunno. Can a normal non-pitot anemometer accurately measure winds that strong?

Cuban radar is displaying the concentric eyewalls nicely. How come Cuban radar and weather stations can keep reporting while in the USA they usually fail?.....MGC

One thing that Cuban radar is making absolutely and thouroughly clear is just how *wide* in area the devestation will be. That second eyewall is HUGE.

Oh, and my contribution to wobble wars...I say it's headed SE!
