That outer feeder band isn't all that far away from my location on the MGC. Interesting. It may die before reaching my house, though.

Definitely looks like an eye to me.

Needs to wrap around a little better on the western side but that does sort of look like a hurricane now doesn't it. Will be most interesting to see what recon shows when it makes it into Dolly. I'd probably estimate 65kts now looking at that but looks are deceptive sometimes and if this does form an eye then its quite wide so plenty of chance for it contract as it gets closer towards landfall.

I find it hard to believe that this system will continue to linger in the Gulf for another 24 hours...
But if that's what they're saying...

It has survived the shear and if it keeps tracking south of the islands it will be entering favorable conditions. If this tracks south of Haiti/DR look out. Could run the gap into the GOM. Could be the first real concern for the CONUS, and of course the islands.
Hmmm, only post I have made on this thread was on page 79 on Wednesday the 16th.
Sometimes even I get lucky in a call. I don't think it will be as bad as the media makes it out to be (that's a pretty sure bet.)

I had been hoping this thing would get onshore, but it is too late now! Rapid intensification will commence within 6 hours. Towering anvils are exploding in the S and SE quad, this will wrap around in less than 6 hours and rapid intensification will being even before the process is done. I would toss a coin on whether this is a cat 3/4 at landfall or not.

Crown weather Link has it all - just scroll about half way down to "Media Links" . Has radio & tv links.

It also seems to be moving quite slowly now too. So, it has quite a few hours over water to do something.
