Quick question... Does it's strength play a role in whether or not it will recurve?

Does anyone keep a log on JB forecast? Does he keep a verification of his forecasts?

Hurricanewatcher2007, Ike seems to be getting a bit of a classic look now on that imagery, I think it may well be a cat-2 by 12hrs time if that presentation keeps up.

Are you sure, Any pro mets confirm this?
Man I wish recon could go out that far...

That's something you can only confirm retrospectively. You can't "confirm" if RI will happen even though people around here like to throw that term around a lot.

Well when an eye clears out in about an hour and you have blacks developing around the now almost perfectly round eye then you know something is going on! It sure as heck isn't maintaining it self or weakening that's for sure!

If it is in fact going through RI then it could be stronger then cat 2 with in 12 hours.

Now that Ike is a Hurricane there should be no question about if recon goes out or not! So Friday we should get our first up close and personal look at Ike!

4. ADDITIONAL DAY OUTLOOK: POSSIBLY START 12-HRLY FIXES ON
TROPICAL STORM IKE AT 05/1800Z NEAR 21.5N 69.0W.

Storm is clearly moving way faster then the NHC forecasts....and the globals seem to be missing this...except perhaps the GFDL model.

GFDL seems to be showing the storm's current movement very well.

JB keeps talking about the Big Carolina and NE storm, you would think he would have some influence over Accuweather's cone.

That's actually one of the more realistic cones from Accu Weather

It's really time for Hanna to leave the Bahamas and let Ike take her place. If not, what could we expect ?

The eye has closed in the latest image. I don't know if its just to small to be able to see or what.
