Long "subject titles" getting cut off

You can only make the title of your threads so long.. Or like you said it will get cut off.. I suggest just putting some of the title then following it by ............ then finishing it in your acutal posts

Oh well. Too bad it wouldn't fit anymore characters, rather than not being able to display what actually fits in the subject line.

I've thought about using the suspension points, too.

FYI, a. ... is called an "ellipsis".

If the room is there in the field, it should post correctly...


As for ellipsis....

ellipsis:
1. a. The omission of a word or phrase necessary for a complete syntactical construction but not necessary for understanding.
....b. An example of such omission.

2. A mark or series of marks (... or * * *, for example) used in writing or printing to indicate an omission, especially of letters or
....words.

The space available on the screen varies with the resolution of your monitor so whay would appear to fit on your screen at 1024x768 wouldn't fit on someone's who was runing 800x600. The database field definition controls how many charaters you can use in a topic title.
