Keep Having to Delete Cookies Before Logging In

A new problem that has come up is when I close my browser which I have done 2 times in a month span, is I have to not only log in again which is unusual (tends to stay logged in for over 5 months before re-logging in again) but right when the confirmation page is done, it goes back to the main page where I'm no longer logged in! The first time this happened it clearly showed I was in but yet the board acted like I was not logged in. Now it just does nothing; the only way to fix is to delete the cookies which is the first thing I did when this problem started. I just did the same now but that is bothersome. Any thoughts or reasons for this? Its FireFox.

I figured it was something like that. Try clearing the cache, otherwise I think you're stuck. If I recall correctly it was an older version of firefox I had issues with. I think it's a browser bug fixed years ago.

If you don't like the latest firefox Chrome isn't bad.

I'll try clearing the cache but this problem just started in the last 2 months so if you had this issue years back for example, that wouldn't make sense.

Did I just read the words "Chrome isn't bad"? . Joking? Its the very last browser I would use and even then I rather use an older version of something else! Chrome is the reason I hate modern desktop web browsers now, they tainted all of them on the "market" with their awful minimalist style, rapid update cycle which I think is a bad idea for various reasons, and a stashed toolbar which is a mess. In fact I read and keep up with the current state of web browsers and on another message board I'm ready to write an essay called "The Great Fall of Desktop Web Browsing". I also use Opera 12 but the number of problems and bloat on the PC it brings is beyond revolting in that FF3 looks like a heavenly experience (its my favorite software). Now all the browsers are racing to become Chrome clones where Opera is nothing to me and the newest versions rejected by 98% of its users (Chrome engine, instead of devs fixing the countless problems with Opera 12 they double down on them by removing tons of useful stuff in the new versions and likely keep the bloat), FireFox is about to take a new radical change for the worse with Australis which really sucks, IE11 and Safari don't work on my OS but I wouldn't want to anyways, and those smaller niche browsers don't have enough customization but I might try some because of Opera 12 . I used Google Chrome in 2009 and recently briefly on someone's else PC and I hated it just for clarification that I did use it before.
