Just finished filming some rainy weather/traffic here on Guam. Wind is not bad at all but driving in the heavy rain is real tricky. Tropical Storm 23 looks to be heading to the Philippines as the ridge to the north is strong. I see this as all bad for the Philippines unlike Lupit. The track is low and steady all the way in. Got an interview with The Weather Channel in 50 minutes.

I have to admit it, I don't like what I see. This doesn't look good.

It doesn't look good at all. Let's hope that track doesn't pan out as forecast.

Yeah. I was always skeptical about Lupit, and at first I thought this one would recurve as well. But that shortwave passing to the north will not get it, and then there's clearly a slightly southward push from the high passing to the north and the redevelopment of the STR. That makes the track pretty clear within a few hundred miles of error, and the Ocean Heat Content this will be traveling over is just incredible.

You are quite correct, StormingB81. Just the white marking on the map for the island.

Good morning! Over here in New York we are getting ready for bed. So you're waking up to bad news, and we're going to bed with it (I feel bad that this situation doesn't look very good.)

This is not good. PAGASA, our local weather bureau already took notice of this storm, along with its potential powers. This is what the director said through an interview with GMA news, and I quote:

"But he admitted there is little chance the cyclone will go the way of "Ramil" (Lupit) that skipped the country."

Scary enough, that coming from the experts here in the country.
