I'm thinking the P'Cola area, there has to be a bend toward the NNE to NE south of Mobile.

Others have stated here that the North & West side of Ida is the strongest. If this is correct than a bend to the NNE-NE just south of Mobile would be the worst case scenario for this area

The whole North side (NW to NE) will be strong if it goes ET. If it's still mostly tropical, the NE quadrant will be much worse.

The NW quadrant should have the highest winds in this scenario with the gradient the tightest there. This would likely be bad for the western Mobile side of Mobile Bay.

Shear still dropping and IDA is nearing area of less than 20kts of shear... since its been under 20kt so far well you get the hint..

I definitely get it. So far the shear forecasts for Ida have obviously been pretty bad - both for how much there is or would be, and how much it would affect this cyclone. Shear is still the biggest problem for forecasting strength.

Nice hazy sunset here with Ida's upper outflow cirrus pushing over us with the sun setting in an opening. Weird lower slab cirrus pushing in under it.

Gusty out on causeway but I've seen worse from nearby cyclones.

Just had one of the first outer bands come through Jupiter area with some decent gusts that knocked over some patio furniture and blew 2 of my doors open. Not quite what we had with Wilma, Jeanne, or Frances, but its fun without the destruction. Good luck in the 'handle.
