Looks like 97L is well on its way to becoming a depression...far eastern Atlantic has really become ideal for TC formation. Would not be surprised to see this one become a hurricane also......MGC

Would it be unsound to suggest the probability is there for one of these wave train waves to get caught under a finally settling Bermuda High and hit the US? I'm not sure 97L is the one but it looks like there are two following it up.

Ditto what cycloneye said. Cruises, especially this time of the year, are on alert for tropical systems. Depending upon what 97L does and becomes, your cruise may end up being diverted. Nothing this far out is set in stone, so just keep us tuned in and also check with your cruise line for guidance. ;)
Not always well communicated with the passengers, though. Went on a cruise in June, and yes it was only June, but when I'd check out the various spots with "weather information", all they would have was a week old satellite image

But yes, I'm certain they actually do pay much closer attention. It'd also probably be a good idea to look into what their policies are regarding any situations involving weather, just to be on top of things on the off chance it becomes an issue.

Can't recall the last time I saw this type of parade coming out of Africa and way into the interior. Amazing.

Hi Dixie and everyone,

1995 comes to mind as the last year we had the express train from Africa across the Atlantic. If not the last time, it certainly was the most memorable (in my mind).

Looks as if we will all be glued to S2K for a long time. This is a great time to say thanks to all the Admins, mods and pro mets for such a terrific board. THANKS!!! Great job!!!
