I'm sure that's because this one is so minor. If the forecast had this one becoming a major 'cane or something in the Gulf there would be a lot more attention on it, I'm sure.

Wondering if Bonnie is picking up a bit of strength from Lake O.

Its kind of freaky, I've been fishing in the exact spot this thing is over.

That Fowey Rocks ob could easily support a upgrade to 40kts but at this point its really pointless to do so.

If Bonnie can't get anything going over the gulf stream... I wouldn't be too concerned about a lake...

Disclaimer: I'm likely the smartest guy here... but I have no idea where a tropical cyclone will go. I suggest you take my opinion as a grain of salt. I suggest you look to the National Hurricane Center for accurate info.

Looks to me like Bonnie will exit Florida all the way up by Fort Myers. I wonder if anything resembling a tropical storm will be left by then?

The ULL is probably stripping it as it tries to strengthen which probably explains the tight eye with low winds. The land-spent center should pass near or over us later this evening. No rain yet but blustery breezes.

What an interesting turn of events over the last 12 hours or so. Just goes to show you never know with the tropics....and I guess JB was right, at least about this part.

The friction of the land may even help tighten the LLC up and the Florida landfall isn't going to do shut Bonnie off. That region is flat and swampy plus Bonnie is already weak enough as it is.

wow went to bed woke up and the cone has moved towards NOLA. When it gets into the gulf i believe it will have a chance to gain a little strength a nice TS to a minimal Cat 1 before landfall again. But i am praying that it just disappears becasue we do not need it to get over the oil at all just imagine how far inland the oil could go

You might want to tell Fay that...

Right!
That's what I have been thinking.
Fay had a difficult time in the Straits in an area where it should have strengthened...then started to ramp up feeding off the Everglades and Lake O.
This will be interesting to see what happens today with Bonnie.

Maybe I'm thinking about a different storm?
Geesh...I can't keep some of these storms straight.

I think it was an A storm.

Fay also didn't have to deal with an ULL the size of Russia like Bonnie has to.
