Hi all,
Dr. Rob Carver, filling in for Jeff this week.
Invest 95L is making landfall now in southern Louisiana near Terrebonne Bay. A CMAN station in Terrebonne Bay is currently reporting winds from the SE at 21 mph and the pressure is 1009 mb. Looking at the radar data, Invest 95L never had a closed center of circulation. I believe soaking rains for southern Lousisana are going to be Invest 95L's main legacy. It's already produced 5+ inches of rain in some offshore locations according to radar-derived rainfall estimates.

Is 95L skimming the LA. coastline or not?
It sure doesn't look inland yet.

The island/peninsula thingy is Marsh Island. I'm just to the northwest of Vermilion Bay and Marsh Island and I've seen a couple of flashes of lightning in the distance. Nice easterly breeze blowing right now.

Same here, some lightning, rain and a nice breeze. Also noticed the bayou a little choppy today.

Okay! Now I can put a name to it...don't you love my wonderful, scientific terminology, though?

Its appearence has improved tonight, I don't think that the NHC will upgrade it anytime soon, but who knows they are more unpredictable than the storms themselves

Re: ATL: INVEST 95L - DISCUSSION
Don't know what to make of this, but the center is definitely over water and moving westward, and there is that blowup of convection just to the east of the center. The northwest to westerly shear is keeping the convection from getting over the center, but it is lessening tonight.

Center must be reforming off shore. Pretty good convective blow up on the eastern side of the system. If it looks like a duck????.......MGC
