It's sure looking alot healthier the last hour or so. A little bit of banding even trying to form on the west side and wrap, making the CoC much more defined than it's been since early this afternoon.

Here in Destin... just got in from catching a few waves. Definatly have a sizeable storm swell out there, quite a few bombs coming through.

Good to see that with the center maybe 30 miles (or less) as the crow flies from Panama City, still no sustained (or even gusts) winds of ts being reported...as others have said, those winds will be confined to along the immediate coast and in occassional squally gusts...but no doubt some areas will see gusts to 50 mph+

Current Wind Reports -
(as of 9pm edt)
PENSACOLA NE6
PENSACOLA NAS NE5
MILTON NAS NE5
CRESTVIEW NE5
VALPARAISO NE9
MARY ESTHER NE12G18
DESTIN NE9G122
PANAMA CITY E22G29
TYNDALL AFB SE25G33
APALACHICOLA SE24G35
MARIANNA E9G20
TALLAHASSEE E8

Center is now e-se of Pensacola and just w-sw of Panama City.....northern band around center (not quite an eye wall) getting ready to move onshore

Current radar of Claudette. Thankfully it probably won't make hurricane strength but boy it appears like it's trying.

I think I'm sitting in the prime location for this one just 8 miles east of Destin and 1 mile inland, my Davis Inst. Weather station is starting to record gusts to 25mph. From the looks of the latest movement trends I believe I may end up just on the eastern side of the center in the deepest convection. :D

Yep, you seem to be in the right spot! Maybe you will get some moderate TS gusts to watch! Be careful and enjoy! :D

I think so as well and Thanks! You know, when I was out there fishing last weekend the SST's out 60 NM offshore were running 88 degree's, much warmer than they were over near Appy Bay where the buoy's were showing 84 degree's. I wonder if this increase in SST will aid in a quick deepening before landfall?

Hey Dean,
It does look to be consoldating right near the coast with a current WNW motion you might get the very best "worst" Claudette has to offer.

I see that, got the HD Radar going and it does appear to be getting a better defined center. You might see some "worst" stuff over there in FWB as well, going to be a late nite I'm afraid! hehe!!

This TS just don't want to move inland. Looks like Claudette is going to go inland near Destin. And I had thought just west of PCB. Oh well, wrong again. Ya'll stay safe in the Fla panhandle tonight......MGC

typical... they always seem to tighten like this as they approach the coast... looks like she has run out of time to strengthen, but it will continue to be a windy rainy evening... looks like a bomb went off near the center on satellite... decent radar image as well...

Seems to have a more west component on NWS radar...might come in between Pensacola and Destin...

It sure does look that way based on radar loop.
