Re: ATL: RICHARD - Hurricane - Discussion
While my no 'cane call was a total bust, note that subjective t numbers from SAB were only around 4.0 at 1745Z. Granted, Richard is small, and it has been leading satellite intensity estimates for a while now, but I'm not so sure that it's a category 2.

I think it's just the eyewall trying to get its act together. Richard hasn't been a hurricane for too long. Normally hurricanes go through eyewall replacement cycles when they're much stronger.

First pass shows only category 1. 82Kts Flight Level - Estimated 67Kts surface.
Looks like Richard is the second storm of late in this area to show a Fist and not follow through with intensification.

WiInds have really picked up on those webcams. It seems that Richard is about to make its first landfall on those islands (I think they're Turneffe islands).

Re: ATL: RICHARD - Hurricane - Discussion
Just as an FYI, that webcam has a wx station with it (visited their website)...here is the link to their wx station:
http://cayecaulkerweather.com/weatherda ... r-data.htm
Right now about 35 mph sustained, with gusts to 40...pressure 1008.1 mb and falling rapidly. Where is Caye Caulker at exactly?
