Seven (7) systems in the tropics right now! Three (3) in the Pacific and four (4) in the Atlantic.
Is that a record?

I kinda wish we would get a weak fish named Katia out of this, to avoid the Katrina comparisons if a similar sounding name is a serious landfall threat in itself.
So far that has been this season's specialty.

Probably just want to run a set of models on a lower forming low and they needed a new name for it. Invests are nothing more than that, really, so should not be a big shock or a big deal. Exciting, yes!

98L has such a large circulation that it is starting to devour 99L......I see little chance that both 98L and 99L develope, the chances are low that 99L developes. My money is on 98L.....MGC

Looks like its fate is intwinned with 98L's and will track in a broadly similar way in the end.

Can't really tell if it is a MLC or LLC I am seeing just southwest of the main blob on this invest. I see some type of circulation.

Interesting that they're all between 10 and 20 north....just look at them all lined up in the map at the top of the Storm 2K forum

I think it was part of 98L and they after analizing it decided to drop it.
