Just got back from last run for supplies, Live 20 miles southeast of DC and 20 miles west of Chesapeake Bay, well over 1" of rain and frequently increasing gusts to over 40mph now power flickering, I have a cocorahs gauge and account. I will be online as long as possible and take rainfall totals as possible. In case power and internet go out, good luck to all in path along coast. This storm is for real and will be long duration.

Flash flood warning here in Auburn MA. These bands have been dumping on us big time and Irene is 17 hours away!

Those rain bands dumping water on Massachusetts are unrelated to Irene as well. They've developed ahead of the storm and dont seem to be related to the spiral banding of the storm.

Amazing what dry air can do to a tropical cyclone.....Just got off the phone with my son in Chesepeake Va and he said it has not been bad...hope it stay that way.....MGC
