Landfall may be close to the nuclear power plant at Little Egg Harbor (close to Brigantine).

Most definitely. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole state of NJ loses power at some point.

thanks, now what would your guess be about Pittsburgh?

Looks like surge map was updated again. Manhattan is solidly into the 11-13 foot area. But they've upped some areas along the NJ "elbow" area to 13-15 and even some areas to 15-17 around new Brunswick...tats huge for this area.

I thought this might be helpful to post: http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/index.php?wfo=phi

It's the all of the water level gauges in the area. Should be good to watch throughout the days to come. Interesting to note the already noticeable rise, looks like the Battery is already up about 2ft over normal levels.

Wow, you're right..
Early on the following day, the storm re-emerged into the Atlantic from southeastern Virginia. Although Irene remained a hurricane over land, it weakened to a tropical storm while making yet another landfall in the Little Egg Inlet in southeastern New Jersey on August 28.

here is their web page. Offices will be closed there and a relief station is set up. Doesn't really answer your question, but at least you could find some info there.
