Um?

And technically, Nadine was never completely "dead", because she never completely dissipated, she simply became post-tropical for a day.
Just saying :)

NHC chose to be conservative with the current intensity in the 21z advisory, which is understandable. We'll have to see if convection builds/persists around its mid-level eye-like feature.

I have to figure out what kind of candy to get the storm for Halloween.

This reminds me of Epsilon..."The end is in sight...It really is...But in the mean time..."

NEAR THE END OF THE FORECAST PERIOD...THE STORM IS FORECAST TO MOVE NORTH-NORTHWESTWARD ALONG THE SOUTHWESTERN AND WESTERN PERIPHERY OF THE HIGH. HOWEVER IT REMAINS TO BE SEEN WHETHER THE TROPICAL CYCLONE WILL MOVE TO A HIGH ENOUGH LATITUDE TO BRING ABOUT ITS DEMISE ANY TIME SOON.

Nadine has the potential to become one of the longest lasting tropical cyclones in the Atlantic basin and the longest I've ever tracked. I actually thought this was gone a week ago!! I couldn't believe it was still going but now after catching up on some advisories, I see the NHC called it quits and then a day later started it up again...never seen that. Its by far the most interesting aspect to this dreadful September in the Atlantic and I hope to see it brake some records and go over 65 advisories. This is peak time for those long lasting buggers similar to last year. The other cool aspect was how many loops Nadine has pulled...what would really take it over the top would be for it to just continue looping into October around the Azores.

Nadine needs to last another two weeks to beat Ginger of 1971. Ginger lasted for 27 days, or 108 advisories. Nadine is only a baby compared to Ginger. And that storm in 1899 may have lasted even longer than Ginger:

Well, not a baby. 15 is more than half of 27. Let's just say she's middle-aged.

How are they going to rank Nadine on the longest storm lists because of its one day intermission? Does the gap screw up the count for it?

I wonder if the NHC will give her the Epsilon/disco Hurricane Kyle (2002) treatment once she gets clear of the Azores again? They aren't as snarky as they were a few years ago, but if there was going to be a 2012 storm where they got to be a little less dry in official products, she seems to be it.

Nadine is a classic example of ship lost at sea. Keeps searching and searching for landscape... Will it find land or will it stumble and sink?

Stay tuned - for possibly another 2 weeks!
