That is very spooky to say the least. Isaac is currently almost exactly in the same spot where Katrina was at this precise time seven years ago on this day. THe only major difference is that Katrina was a cat 2 hurricane at this point, while Isaac is currently a 60 mph TS.

Yah, let's try to keep it that way, okay?

Alls I can says is this......Isaac has a looooong way to go before he approaches Katrina's size. At one point homegirl took up most of the Gulf it seemed.

If that's true then it's not good for the Keys because they'll be stuck in the heavy rain longer.

Hey Mark, can you circle the center amidst the convection?

Ike was a very large Hurricane in 2008 ..... Isaac is also very large .... storm surge came into Galveston and the Bolivar Peninsula well before the storm arrived. I'm thinking Isaac is going to have a large storm surge as well.

Latest saved radar loop from Key West. Kind of a 3d layer effect, not sure what I'm seeing.

Its right on the NHC forecast track but I hate when storms temporarily stall like that. Wonder if that ULL to the east is getting close enough to change the track?

Yeah, I have noticed seemingly a significant slowing of forward motion as well. NHC had it moving at 16 mph on the 5 p.m. advisory, but Recon will confirm if it has slowed in a significant manner.

Will this slowing cause it to potentially miss the turn north and continue west to tx/la border????

THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING my question. We are within his range, which explains the abnormal wind, and rain forecast. The satellite was of great assistance.

That's not the kind of news anyone wants to see. I hope you're wrong but after watching the long loops, ugh.

That doesn't mean anything. The convection that explodes does not stay persistently enough and the southwestern side has not moistened up at all. Its not going to fully consolidate that way. An eye wall will have to form before this thing explodes.
