Mouton wrote:At Fernandina Beach, Fl, the barometer has been holding steady just above 30" and the winds are freshing slightly from the north. There are no indications of an incoming storm as yet. We are quite a bit south west of Berly's position. SSTs are an unusually warm 77 deg here at the mouth of the St Mary's river where there is typically is a cold spot.

Local weather reports suggest 3 to 6 inches of rain beginning tomorrow morning with gusting winds to 50 MPH.

That is about I am expecting here during tomorrow and tomorrow night as well. I will be reporting as often as possible tomorrow as Beryl gets closer and eventually makes landfall

Yes..should update every 2 minutes or so. I hit refresh a lot if I use them though just to make sure I've got the current one.

I don't think this will be able to transition into a fully tropical system before landfall. Time is running out and I don't see any progress in becoming tropical.

I got it, but I have to leave in maybe 25 minutes.

It probably already IS tropical. An AMSU pass from 8 am EDT this morning showed the storm was already more warm core than cold core.

The transition has begun. convection beginning to fill in around the center. if it keeps it up it will warm the atmosphere get some latent heat release and we have a tropical storm.
