Latest microwave.
Thanks, King!
Btw, that lower left satellite is a 37H image which shows lower levels unlike the 89H microwave satellites so it is a very good guide to where the LLC is. And the LLC is clearly well defined there.

That is an eye.
50mph tropical storms don't have eyes.

High end Tropical Storms usually start developing their eye wall but the actual eye doesn't start clearing out on Sat. images until they become hurricanes. From what I've seen Sat. Images aren't currently showing the eye clearing out... We are just seeing the Eye wall developing on Radar which the majority of the time we don't get to see since alot of the time they develop out of range of Radar.

Like I said I am a computer programmer but love watching these things form they truly are amazing. They start off as just a bunch of clouds and energy and turn into these powerful storms. I have been through one major hurricane here in Hope Mills/Fayetteville NC and that was Fran and that was a scary night hearing the trees popping and falling down around us.

Clearly looks like an eye type feature. I think the MCL is boring down to the surface currently. Would not be suprised if recon discovers this later tonight. If this does occur, I think it will result in an even futher shift to the east of Authur's eventual track, which might be good news for North Carolina's Outer Banks........MGC
I agree - since it is an early season system shifts to the east are common so it wouldn't be unusual and would spare the coast if that does happen. and if true might be a system that never makes landfall (my opinion)..

Just STOP. Please don't say it is a hurricane without sound data to back it up. Misinfo is spread otherwise
Well at least please put a disclaimer on your forecasts and opinions, ok? Alyono is right that we don't want misinformation spread. Thanks.

Re: ATL: ARTHUR - Tropical Storm - Discussion
I haven't posted much here, nor been here until yesterday, recently..
Having lived all my life in south Florida (55 yrs), I am somewhat an expert...
The images on our local radars does in fact look like an eye. It was posed that it is a hurricane because of such, but the truth is, a hurricane is just a wind speed classification ans has no relvance to having an eye or not. Even hurricanes have been known to NOT have an eye, while still maintaining hurricane force winds. And I've seen eyes of TS before as well.
But I must say, this recent wind up is impressive looking.

A sentence like that has to be with our S2K disclaimer as many people visit the board and some may take what you said as right.

You could always just put the disclaimer as your forum signature so you don't always have to remember to include it.

Whew - the angels that run the light show must have been on the swing shift - the first rumble was at 8 or so and the last one was 20 minutes ago - wonder what the tally was for this evening (probably in the thousands I'll bet - lots of vigor for sure)...

It's not that uncommon for moderate TS to have an eye like appearance on radar... IMO it's pretty clear looking at the radar there is a clear center/eye like feature with this TS... JMHO of course...
