530 AM PDT THU JUN 12 2014

Cristina has continued to rapidly intensify overnight. Its
well-defined eye is now completely surrounded by cloud tops as cold
as -80C, and the current intensity is estimated to be around 125 kt
based mainly on objective ADT guidance. This makes Cristina the
second category 4 hurricane of the eastern North Pacific season.

This special advisory is being issued to update the initial
intensity and the intensity forecast during the first 24 hours.
The remainder of the forecast remains unchanged from the 0900 UTC
advisory.

Personally I would place the intensity to 130 knots, equivalent to a category 4 Super Typhoon!

Eye continues to warm and cloud tops continue to cool.

Dvorak also have a hard time with midget storms...nonetheless this is a very powerful category 4 now!

Was hoping to wake up to something special and she delivered! Just wow at the EPAC, who thought she would go for cat 4 a few days ago? :cheesy: This basin man, go with the most bullish model this year!

Certainly can. I personally would put it at 150 mph right now.

6.0 from KNES but ADT is at 6.4=124.6 knots...rounded off and you get 125 knots, the current intensity...

I wonder if this could be stronger than Amanda. This is such an amazing hurricane. 2 Category 4 hurricanes recorded before June 15? Just wow :eek: :eek: . Time to give props to the HWRF for predicting this to be a major hurricane. :D Convection is improving and is cooling, and the eye is clear and very well-defined! This could be our first category 5!

Cristina was a upgraded to a category 4 with 125 kt winds about 30 minutes ago by the NHC.
