A lot of clouds and rain to the southeast/south of the center and it looks like a lot of Fl. is going to get a lot of rain from this. It's got to be a few hundred miles long right now. For a lot of places this is the last thing they need is more rain.

Do be aware there is a marginal risk of tornadoes for Tampa so watch for any serious cells coming in and you are welcome.

Take care everyone within her path.

I will go with 989mb and 61kt SFMRs, with a peak FL wind of 60kt for the first VORTEX. Anyone else?

Certainly is looking more symmetrical now. Banding beginning to encircle the center on Vis.

Offshore buoy at 26N-83W or about 30 miles SW of Sarasota showing sustained winds of 30 mph and gusts to 40 mph as of an hour ago. need to convert m/s to mph.

I am in Mount Pleasant SC. (Charleston County). Looks like a big rain maker for us. SCEMD hasn't been activated as of yet. I have a daughter (actually 2) one from here and one from Charlotte driving to NC for a Labor Day vacation so I'm watching closely for them because they both know they're Mom is a weather nerd. Clear back to the AOL hurricane history boards.

In reading this I'm actually really surprised they canceled the tropical storm watch for Marion county. If the track shifts at all within the cone, it can make a real difference in what we get. Not a complaint, just an observation.

Recon punched the center on its first pass...I would say around 27.2N and 86.1W...or there about.

Will be updating from SW Gainesville. Based on the latest JAX NWS briefing we're supposed to have 40-50mph sustained for 7-10 hrs, with onset about midnight. IF the track doesn't shift S or E

do you have a direct link to the recon data?

I am quite interested in tracking the pressure readings in "real-time" if its available to the public.

Thanks in advance

I'm a little surprised by this as well. Schools are starting discussions in the center of the state about early release.

I know just about enough to sound like I know what I'm talking about sometimes. But for your safety please follow the nhc for truly professional forecasting. :D
