Re: ATL: FOUR - Remnants - Discussion
The wave is passing by and the SE Coast of Florida is getting robbed of significant rain due to all of the activity pushing inland and to the SW Coast of Florida on the brisk east windflow.
Still hopeful to get some activity redeveloping over the Gulf stream tonight and moving into the coast

I have a feeling after this nonevent wave passes here on the east coast we will head right back into the drought we had because we had that one day rain event.

Re: ATL: FOUR - Remnants - Discussion
Simply the wave moving across Florida. The resulting instability combined with daytime heating has produced quite a few thunderstorms. It will be harder for these storms to maintain themselves once the wave moves into the Gulf.

Think I will monitor the surface pressures at the buoys on the keys tonight.
Lowest pressures might be a little south of Miami?

We've had a good soaking, steady rain off and on since before noon today in Orlando. Not much thunder and lightning, and different from the usual rainy season storms that we get here.

Quite the blowup of cloud cover over the southern half of the peninsula of Florida late this afternoon and evening thanks to what's left of the TW that was once TD#4.

Absolutely intense lightning and heavy rain with storms backbuilding off the nearshore Atlantic waters. Big storm started just before 8 and lasted a bit after 10. Atmosphere is juiced.

Re: ATL: FOUR - Remnants - Discussion
That vorticity in the central Bahamas is associated with the upper-level low/trof in that extends from the upper-low about 500 miles north of Puerto Rico to the eastern Bahamas. The wave (former TD Four) is now in the eastern Gulf. Another wave is approaching the upper trof north of the eastern Caribbean. Squalls are flaring up as they did when the remnants of Four passed through the area. Tropical development looks unlikely through the next week or two.

Re: ATL: FOUR - Remnants - Discussion
The low that we are/were following yesterday is a piece of the wave that produce TD 4. It can still clearly be seen between Homestead, Nassau and the Northern coast of Cuba. It is very small but trackable for the last 3 days.
Yesterday afternoon it started sucking in lots of dry air/substance from the north and west pretty much putting a stop to any redevelopment chances it might have had. Thankfully
It was a lot better defined yesterday.

yeah there is still some vorticity with the remnant piece of Td4 passing though keys today. environment looks better but models of course dont do anything with it. I would still watch it though.

looks like a leftover mid level swirl from the convection over the peninsula last night. only low level rotation, weak and broad, is in the florida straights in keys area.

Re: ATL: FOUR - Remnants - Discussion
Poor old TD4, passing through the straits of Florida with too little spin to take advantage of a somewhat better environment

The remnants still broadly rotating away central gulf north of the Mona passage.
Actually, the vorticity has been increasing for the 12 hours or so ...
