Oh, and 12Z GFS has 20" of rain from Houston to Beaumont NEXT Tuesday with another storm in the NW Gulf. Hope it's wrong.

Howdy storm2k community. Thank you for posting such great information on the weather and the events surrounding this crazy deal. I've been a silent lurker for some years now. I've seen the wars between good and evil on the texas winter board. I side with wxman (good side lol) all day long! Bring the heat!

It has been great to see the best humanity has to offer thru some of these dark hours. Amazing to see people coming in from all over the country bringing boats and putting themselves in jeopardy to help others. I'm in the Copperfield area, 77095. We've seen crazy rainfall totals. I tried to keep up, but my rain gauge has overflowed too many times. I gave up on that effort. We have remained above water so far. My neighborhood had over 200 homes flooded during the tax day flood. So far i think a handful have taken in water during Harvey.

Thank you all for your valuable contributions in helping to keep me (somewhat) sane. While the news coverage has been great, the information here has been easy to access and helped me put a plan(s) together. Best of luck to all of you. I have little to offer in the way of weather knowledge, so I'll continue to subscribe to the read more, post less philosophy. Y'all are the best.

Edit: spelling

Thank you so much!

Unbelievable story. So glad that guy found her. I can't imagine what could have happened. I do hope her father pays closer attention. I still wonder how she got the door open.

Addicks up to 108.55 as of 1:15pm. Seems to be slowly but steadily increasing still, not sure when it will begin to level off.

Addicks now up to 108.62, just when it seems to level off it experiences a "surge" and keeps going up. I believe 110 is the next level where additional spillover occurs.

Thats about a foot and a half more, so hopefully the rain levels off so it doesn't spillover at that point.

Roads covered, shelters open in Jefferson County
by KFDM/Fox 4Tuesday, August 29th 2017

The Jefferson County Courthouse is the central location for emergency management in the county.
Deputy Marcus McLellan tells us they're still getting calls from people whose homes are flooding. They're taking people from the local fire stations to the shelters.
Those shelters are the Beaumont Civic Center, the Bowers Civic Center in Port Arthur and the Salvation Army. Walk-ups are being taken but the priority is on rescues.
