Is the flooding she’s seeing from a bayou or some of the levee/dam overflow? What area is she in? Hope she will be safe through the night, darkness and water are a terrifying combination.

I believe she is just west of Beaumont.

What area is she in? We are travelling down to Beaumont port Aurthor area in am from Dallas. Going to put our boat in that area to help out. If she is close to there and wants out would be more then happy to grab here if we can get to there

It's bad in Port Arthur. Watching KFDM and Facebook and people are calling to be rescued. I think people are starting to panic. Understandably so, water coming in fast.
Mid Jefferson County - Port Arthur, Nederland, Port Neches - they have gotten pounded tonight.

I have nieces in Nederland, thankfully they are safe. Pray for these people. Still a rough night ahead.

It's bad all over this area. I'm just north of Beaumont, been here over 50 years and have never witnessed anything like this.

I live in Orange Texas in a neighborhood that never floods. A lot of people may not even have flood insurance and the houses are taking in water. I can not comprehend how bad the rest of Orange and BMT and Port Arthur and Vidor look. I have about 3 more inches before water is in my house, other look to have water in them already. There is no more draining and it is still raining. Ike, Rita, floods last year, none of it is even close to this. I can't believe it. We had no way of knowing it was going to be like this. This is beyond extreme

Not good, from kfdm -
PORT ARTHUR — A large number of water rescues are needed in Port Arthur with 10 to 15 feet of water heading their way and no resources to save them.
The situation in Port Arthur is dire, with homes expected to flood and residents there unsure of how to get out of the city.
Port Arthur city officials did not call for evacuations earlier Tuesday. Jefferson County emergency officials shut down rescue operations at nightfall Tuesday.

I believe they are doing emergency rescues. Problem is 911 is being overwhelmed with people having rising water in their homes

How is this even happening.. they knew it was coming... what happened to prepare for the worst hope for the best ?

I have never seen anything like this.. from landfall to now.. this entire system is an enigma that the models just could not deal with properly.

hence why I always harp on the model dependency for classifying systems especially.

It has been horrible. Places here flooding also that have never flooded. They had to close Hwy 69/96/287 between Lumberton and Beaumont. Never thought I would ever see that happen.
Hang in there a few more hours. Praying for you!

Sucks. Triangle's been too close all along to not eventually have taken a hard hit. Harvey is leaving his mark. Someone mentioned river flooding. That's the next phase after Harvey pulls out. With water already up almost everywhere basically southeast of Austin, even more people are yet to flood. Pretty terrible and historic event so far.

Port Arthur has over 100 calls right now, 4 boats and others coming in, had no outside help yet.
