The well marked low pressure area over central parts of southern Bay of Bengal persists. It is very likely to move westwards and is likely to intensify into a depression over southwestern Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.

As per the satellite imagery, scattered low and medium clouds with embedded intense to very intense convection lay over southeastern Bay of Bengal and adjoining Indian ocean and southwestern Bay of Bengal between 8.0N to 15.0N and 80.0E to 90.0E. The minimum cloud top temperature is -86C.
