My wife knows a couple who is staying at at a hotel on the Waikiki Strip right now. If there is a direct landfall on Oahu or if they even get in the NE quadrant, how do you think the Waikiki hotels will fare?

Can you point me to where this is linked? Just want to keep an eye out for future updates and haven't been able to find where you accessed it from. Thanks!

It was from the CPHC Lane page, on the right side, local statements, but they changed it. Looking around for it now.

Yes, a couple of links in, from this page: http://www.prh.noaa.gov/hnl/pages/obs.php

Hawaii rainfall summary: http://www.prh.noaa.gov/data/HFO/RRAHFO

Thank you!

Looks like Lane is moving NNE now, or at least the mid-levels. All the precipitation may reach Maui even if the LLC stays offshore.

Such a weird feeling of anticipation as I can see patches of blue sky here on maui at the moment. No rain in sight. Any idea when we might start to see some? My husband has to go to work at the airport and I'm worried roads will be flooded for his return at 5 pm tonight.

Looks like Lane is making a comeback from early this morning. He just refuses to die.

This saved radar image from a few minutes ago looks like it's showing rain just now getting to your area.

Hey what is the link to that old wunderground radar. all I can find is the new interactive thing and my computer does not like it.. looking for a mosaic of all the radars.

hard to tell whats going with only one angle from a radar with mountains blocking everything else.

lol I swear they should just put a radar on top of a mountain and angle it down ..

This map should be clickable to drill down to the NEXRAD sites

Thanks. I guess they changed it. Used to beable to zoom in with the mosaic loop.

I guess I have to try and figure out why my computer does not like the interactive map....

Looks like it put the center where the 0z run thought it should be, which was wrong from the get go. Still, it has it moving due north.

:uarrow: next frame is moving west, so the same story. Lane weakens, gets ??? close, and the remains drift west with the lower level flow.

The primary threat is rainfall regardless where the center goes.

12z GFS puts near 50 inches of rain over Maui. Given the limited resolution of GFS, Harvey's rainfall record may get smashed if that verifies.

I think it's fair to say the longer it holds together the greater the rain threat, and the wetter the ground the less wind is needed to cause significant disruptions via downed trees.
