We knew Kirk was heading for strong wind shear, and this is the result. Interesting that Barbados, just 50 miles from the center, has a west-northwest wind at only 10 kts. It was 5 kts previously. Another exposed swirl will move through the islands, followed by some squalls with TS winds much later.

Yep. Only this time instead of the ubiquitous "He's dead, Jim" they will be more along the lines of "I'm dead, Jim".

It's not McCoy that's dead, it's Jim that is struggling. "You're dead, Jim".

Is it normal for the forecast discussion and the forecast advisory (#15, in this case) to have two different direction headings? The discussion says 285 and the advisory has 290 :double:

Incidentally, it's gettin' a bit gusty here in the southwest of the island. Not very strong, but I think that may change in a couple hours' time.

They're certainly trying to wrap, was noticing that earlier; I think it's probably a temporary thing though heh

Colors of lost purpose on the canvas of irrelevance

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Seems to have slowed in the last hour or so, so the storm relative shear would let up as a result, even if a temporary thing.

Honestly, that's a tricky one. But I'm guessing periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by occasional tropical storm force gusts, tonight. Tomorrow will probably start off a bit on the breezy side with a few showers, but most (if not all) of that should be gone by midday. Of course, I'm not a meteorologist, and I'm just going by what I see on satellite imagery.
