This is likely a Category 5. Tight inner core and 135 FL already.

Hopefully the shear will really rip into this if it heads towards Hawaii.

First recon pass supports an intensity of about 135 kt but the NE quadrant might have winds to support a C5 upgrade.

Hi, everyone. Long time lurker but had to make a new account because I forgot my password. I have a boarding up question. I live kind of close to Pearl Harbor and my bedroom windows face to the south (toward the harbor). Is it necessary to board them up? I'm a single mom with three kids and I've never had to do anything like this on my own. Not even sure what kind of wood to buy, like thickness wise. Would they know at Home Depot?

I have four cases of water left over from Hector but I'm thinking I will need more. Haven't had time to venture out yet due to work but I will have to today. Hopefully the stores aren't out already.

Agreed with 135 kt for the intensity given the latest data. Pressure likely down to about 942mb.

either shutters or at least 3/4 inch thick plywood.

A question you will need to answer is how well is the home constructed?

The main home was built in the 70s but I live in an attached upgrade that was built in 2007. I have a leak in my roof that I have to go up and fix today. A little worried about that, too.

doesn't sound like your roof would survive hurricane force winds
