Salute!

@sea breeze Looke a lot like Erin of 1995 fame. Blew over a missile at Patrick and we went thru the eye while staying at a motel south of Orlando ( was at a conference). We later experienced it when we got home near Desin and had a tree come thru the roof, heh heh.

Seems like Katrina also transitted Florida before turning north.

I don't like the southerly model runs, and we're well evacuated now but three days driving home for damage assessment. We're about 50 miles SW of Denver and surge not a biggie up here at 8000 feet.

Gums sends...

Right on the doorstep of a hurricane. Radar shows banding wrapping around the eastern side of the core. Dont think its closed off quite yet but it's making a cheeky attempt at an eye

That said, I know most are taking this seriously and getting prepared.

And this is a fine example, sorry Jr0d but someone claiming someone said is not good enough. Please make sure you have verifiable information before posting. We do have a Discord chatroom where the rules are a lot more forgiving (link in my signature).

My SO was watching the feed on her phone or I would have screen shot it.(I wanted to) Nonetheless it's just a claim that few saw and hopefully no one would take seriously, especially given the official NWS is predicting hurricane conditions Sunday.

To change the subject, the MyRadar app has the San Juan radar, overall it is a sub par radar app but at least it has that going for it.

Strongest convection on the SE Eyewall.
Vortex should be out soon.
We'll see if they say its closed off.

Thankfully, Dorian has basically been a non event for us on St Maarten.
OUr sister island of Saba, 40 miles South is a different story.
This is a video of flooding at Fort Bay, Saba, occurring there now.
Even a tropical storm can give us huge problems on our islands.

Finally broke below 1000. Now we'll see intensification, I think.

11am NHC 5 day point is just a smidge south of 5am. Just offshore Cape Canaveral.

You can tell how uncertain the NHC is right now in the track given they are still not showing a landfall.

It was a smart idea to issue hurricane watches. I must admit- yesterday I was doubting that they were necessary, but it looks like Dorian will be a hurricane while passing PR and the VIs.
