My son is a Beaumont Firefighter. They are having trouble going anywhere because it's too deep. Feeder roads are waist deep.
I truly didn't think we'd see anything near Harvey again. Yet for some people it's even worse.

So what is stopping Imelda (remains) from moving out of the area right now?

Is the remnant “storm” center still moving north or has it stalled?

How do people evacuate in this situation? Is it even possible?

Looks like a piece is shearing off NW but that could just be a moisture flow at a certain level. Looks like the center is probably around 31.3N or so? Look at the inflow bands though coming in from the south and the bands building back while feeding into the low level explosion. Kind of a weird sat picture you don't see everyday.

They probable still have a way out at this point but later in the day they won't. If they evacuation would be boat.

typically you know if you flood with x amt of rain and you go to higher ground, the problem is you dont know where the heavy rains will setup so evacuating from thunderstorms is going to be rare

Haven’t had a chance to read through pages, but just heard that SGs neighborhood is under mandatory evac. Has she gotten out?

This is simply amazing at this point. I don't think many people in Houston realize how lucky we've been so far (I know it's still not over). I feel horrible for the people of Beaumont and surrounding areas. This is too reminiscent of Harvey. :(

"For Immediate Release...

Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick just received notification from DD6 that the Green Pond Gulley Levy is deteriorating and could break at any moment.

The levy holds 4600-5600 acres of water. Gilbert Lake Estates is ordered to evacuate immediately. Rescue Boats are sparce at the moment however, we do have several enroute to that area.

If you live in the area and have a boat, please pick up your neighbors and go to the Hwy 365 overpass at IH10."

She posted earlier saying the entrance/exit to her subdivision was flooded. I imagine she'll have to get out via boat now.
