Even without a clear eye not many Hurricanes in the Atlantic can manage a CDO like this.

Those -80C cloud tops have now wrapped all the way around the center.

Can't wait to see what Dvorak intensity estimates look like once an eye pops out.

Is that the eye? I thought it was a little to the NW.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Actually with the center of rotation where he has it, more west.

I doubt a Fujiwhara effect would have much of an effect on Delta. What's left of Gamma is just a tiny blip on Delta's radar.

Gamma, on the other hand, is going to become Delta lunch.

It's a real circulation. Don't underestimate it. The overall circulation encompassing both systems is likely pumping that Atlantic ridge. I (personally) have never seen this setup before.

Nobody thinks it's more than a little bit of dramatic irony that one of the fastest changing storms of all time is called Delta?

Honestly at this point I'm expecting the hurricane to basically be the Mega Rayquaza of hurricanes.

[“It is the Δ (Delta), born of the great disturbances in this world."--Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire]

EDIT: For those not familiar with Pokemon characters, Mega Rayquaza is basically a dragon that rules over the atmosphere and has violent winds constantly blowing around it. It is associated with the Greek letter Delta in its symbolism.

I guess Delta is too shy to open its eye right now.

It’s trying. I am pretty sure that’s the northern eyewall peaking through on visible right now

I’m so sick of checking on a pink and white blob every 0.5 seconds that I’m going to purposefully not check on Delta for the next 1-3 hours, and then see how it’s progressed later this afternoon.
