I live roughly three miles form the ocean and I can assure you it is not dead calm here.

The track keeps shifting south away from South Florida. Doubt anyone in South Florida will see hurricane winds, but TS winds are the most likely.

Here in coconut creek winds are 15 mph no big deal.

Same. Here in NE PBC winds are pretty gusty, especially in squall lines.

We will get tropical force winds in gusts that’s it. I’m supposed to go into work at 3pm business as usual.

that could be a rather difficult drive, hopefully common sense prevails with your employer

Getting a bit concerned on the west coast of Florida here, the new NHC track implies a landfall along the Nature Coast later in the week. Intensity is the question.

It also depends on how far north Eta gets before the west turn but I do expect conditions to get worse than now but luckily I’m only 4 miles from work.

Sustained TS winds across SFL aren't forecast to start until the mid-afternoon. We're still in the feeder bands (if you can call this deluge a giant feeder band)

A friend of mine in Hollywood told me he's been getting absolutely pummeled all morning. In Sunrise, we haven't had heavy rain yet today (or since I woke up), but we did most of last night. And more is on the way.

I’m concerned what it will be like at 9:30 when I leave work driving in 40 to 50 mph winds but hopefully it won’t be as bad.

A lot of ponds in the Davie area are nearly at the point of overflowing. Especially around Central Campus.

I am beginning to doubt any portion of Broward will get into sustained TS winds most likely keys and extreme south dade. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I'm changing my tune for this storm. I think Eta could in fact become stronger than Cat 1 after it passes Fl. Usually it's bad news when a storm makes a SW dive...
